My name is Ed Duncan and I'm a software development manager at a healthcare company in southeastern Virginia. We build mostly Microsoft.Net software and we run a number of Microsoft platform servers, most notably SharePoint Server 2007. We write business software and tools. Our team of eight builds and supports about 80 applications, data interfaces and web sites.
About me personally, I'm in my early 30s, I have two very energetic boys, one English bulldog and an amazing wife; you'll hear about them from time to time. I'm also learning to play acoustic guitar, I love photography, I've dabbled in magic ( the "abracadabra" kind ) and I'm a huge sucker for consumer electronics ... but then again, who isn't?.
This blog will be mostly about software development, and the ins and outs of running software projects in a business setting. However, you'll also hear plenty about my hobbies and gadgets. My main goal though, is to make this blog useful - at least to a few people - and to put some information back into the well that I've been drawing so heavily from for quite a while.
Hopefully you'll find something here that makes it worth stopping by.
Thanks, more to come.
